A committed, experienced team
Bioscan employs a dedicated team of experienced full-time professionals at its Oxford office, but where necessary we are also able to draw upon a range of specialist sub-contractors with whom we have an excellent working relationship, as well as experts in the academic world.


DOMINIC WOODFIELD
Dominic Woodfield is the Managing Director at Bioscan, joining the company in December 1998 as senior ecologist and becoming a director in 2000. After graduating in 1993 he worked briefly for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and has since been a UK-based ecological consultant working principally for private sector clients. He is a Chartered Ecologist, Chartered Environmentalist and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).

SAM WATSON
Sam joined Bioscan in 2003 after graduating with an honours degree in Ecology from Lancaster University and following short periods with Hastings Borough Council and as a trainee Conservation Ranger in Rye Bay. He was made a senior consultant in 2007 and a principal consultant in 2019. He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).

REBECCA READ
Rebecca joined Bioscan in 2013, having worked in nature conservation since 2005 and as an ecological consultant since 2008. She was made a Principal Ecologist in 2019 and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). She manages a diverse range of case work ranging from large and complex nationally significant infrastructure (NSIP) projects to small-scale barn conversions; and has a depth of experience across the residential, minerals, commercial, energy, transport and marine sectors.

GEOFF MOXON
Geoff joined Bioscan (UK) Ltd in 2008, and has worked in the role of senior ecologist since 2012, prior to which he was a surveyor at the Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC), and involved in a variety of environmental research projects in Asia, Africa, Europe and Central America. He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).

BEN CARPENTER
Ben graduated with an honours degree in wildlife management from Sparsholt in 2002. After periods as a freelance ornithological consultant and part time researcher, he was employed full-time by Bioscan in 2007. He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). He was made a Senior Ecologist at Bioscan (UK) in 2019.

NOEL SWEENEY
Noel worked for Bioscan for many years as a sub-contractor undertaking survey and overseeing mitigation works before being formally employed as a project-based Ecological Clerk of Works in 2019.

ROSIE BERKIN
Rosie Berkin is a Field Ecologist at Bioscan, joining the company in August 2021 after graduating with an integrated Master’s degree in Zoology from the University of Exeter.

WYLIE HORN
Wylie Horn is a Field Ecologist at Bioscan, joining the company in August 2021. After graduating in 1985 he worked for the RSPB as a reserve warden prior to working on the 'Seabirds and Sandeels' project in Shetland. This led to Wylie doing a PhD in Zoology, focusing on the foraging ecology and breeding performance of Arctic and Common terns on Coquet Island, Northumbria.

EMILY DAY
Emily is a Field Ecologist at Bioscan, joining the company in August 2022 shortly after graduating from the University of Exeter with a BSc (Hons) in Zoology. Emily is a Qualifying Member of CIEEM.

WILLIAM FITCHETT
William Fitchett joined Bioscan in 2022 on a placement year, as part of his undergraduate degree in Wildlife Conservation and Ecology, which he is studying for at Reading University.
