Maddy is due to graduate from the University of Exeter in July 2026 with a degree in Physical Geography. As part of her studies, she undertook a placement year at Newquay Zoo, where she developed practical fieldwork skills and gained experience in ecological surveying. Her dissertation focused on the impacts of Eurasian beavers on water quality, reflecting her interest in freshwater ecosystems and species-led habitat management.
She joined Bioscan in April 2026 as an Assistant Ecologist and is keen to further develop her skills across a range of survey techniques. Maddy is particularly interested in gaining experience in protected species work and working towards obtaining relevant survey licences.
